AIADMK stages protest against property tax hike

The Opposition AIADMK staged a State-wide protest against property tax hike, which was introduced recently by the DMK government.

In Chennai, AIADMK coordinator and former chief minister O Panneerselvam led the protest along with his hundreds of party cadre and raised slogans against the DMK government.

Stating that the property tax increase should be immediately withdrawn, Panneerselvam pointed out that the then AIADMK government hiked the property tax in 2018 and immediately withdrew it in 2019 for the welfare of the people.

In the Tiruchy district, the protest was headed by AIADMK deputy coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami along with his party functionaries. He alleged that the DMK government is not working for the welfare of the people.

In Villupuram district, former law minister and AIADMK senior party functionary C Ve Shanmugam led the protest demonstration. Similarly, former minister S P Velumani also headed the protest in Coimbatore city.
