PM Modi Expands India-Russian Cooperation and Explores New Ground in Austria
8 July 2024, 5:02 pmAt the 22nd India-Russia annual summit on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi, who is traveling to Moscow, and President Putin are expected to discuss measures for strengthening bilateral ties on various regional and global concerns.
PM Modi highlighted India and Russia’s growing strategic partnership in energy, security, trade, investment, health, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
He emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region and conveyed his excitement about getting to know the thriving Indian community in Russia.
After wrapping up his meeting with Russia, PM Modi will visit Austria. This is the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the country in over forty years. He has scheduled to meet with Chancellor Karl Nehammer and President Alexander Van der Bellen during his visit.
“Austria is a reliable partner, sharing our values of democracy and diversity,” PM Modi stated. “This visit aims to boost our partnership in new areas like innovation, technology, and sustainability.”
Meeting with Austrian business leaders to discuss trade and investments excites PM Modi. Additionally, he intends to meet with Austria’s well-known professional Indian community.
