Siva Karthikeyan and Sai Pallavi’s Amaran is making waves at the box office, having grossed Rs. 220 crore in India. This makes it the seventh highest-grossing film in Tamil cinema history.

A Strong Third Weekend

Despite stiff competition from the newly released Kanguva, Amaran held strong during its third weekend. The film is poised to surpass the box office numbers of Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT in Tamil Nadu in terms of footfall.

Global Success

Amaran has crossed the Rs. 300 crore mark globally, with Rs. 9.10 million coming from overseas markets.

Potential to Break More Records

Without the competition from Kanguva, Amaran might have surpassed other blockbusters like Baahubali 2, Jailer, and The GOAT. The film is on track to become one of Tamil cinema’s top grossers, trailing only behind iconic hits like Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, Rajinikanth’s Jailer, Mani Ratnam’s PS1, Vijay’s Leo, and The Greatest Of All Time.

Audiences continue to flock to theatres, cementing Amaran as a massive success.
