Actor Francisco San Martin, widely known for his role as Dario Hernandez in Days of Our Lives, tragically passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 39. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death as a suicide by hanging at his Los Angeles home. His untimely passing has left Hollywood in shock.

San Martin’s role on Days of Our Lives lasted for six months in 2011, where he portrayed a petty thief who was revealed to be an officer investigating a cold case in Salem. His character’s storyline included a move to Argentina for a job promotion. In 2016, actor Jordi Vilasuso took over his role.

Apart from his work on Days of Our Lives, San Martin also had notable roles in Jane the Virgin, where he starred opposite Gina Rodriguez, and in The Bold and the Beautiful. He had additional credits in Behind the Candelabra and several stage and TV productions in Spain.

San Martin’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief. His co-star from Days of Our Lives, Camila Banus, paid tribute to him on Instagram, expressing love and sadness over the loss.
