Arun Vaidyanathan, who made his directorial debut with Prasanna-Sneha starrer Achchamundu Achchamundu and directed films such as Arjun-starrer Nibunan and Mohanlal-starrer Peruchazhi besides co-producing Seethakathi, has announced his next venture.

Focussed on kids and having children as its centre point, the film will be a wholesome treat for everyone, he says. Apart from wielding the megaphone, he will also be producing the yet untitled movie under his own banner ‘Universe Creations’.

“The project is a children’s film made with the intent of filling the huge void that exists for original Indian content dedicated to children,” says the filmmaker.

He adds: “While the film shall be made with children at its heart, it will not be reducing itself to only children. It aims to be a treat for the child in each and every one of us.”

According to Arun Vaidyanathan, the film will have four children in key roles and will be set in the backdrop of Chennai. “But any child in any part of the world can relate it to him/herself.”

Stating that the Covid-induced lockdown has affected kids hard, Arun Vaidyanathan says even OTT platforms have not catered to their needs fully. “This film will fill the gap. We are planning to screen it in many international film festivals too,” he adds.

Though I had penned the film’s script before the pandemic, I feel now is the right time to make it as a film. “There is no scarcity for love” will be its core theme, states Arun Vaidyanathan.

The cast and crew of the movie will be announced shortly.
