Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar has once again proven its timeless appeal, breaking records with its IMAX re-release in India. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the film hit theatres on February 7 in both IMAX and 2D formats, drawing massive audiences.

On Tuesday, Warner Bros India announced that Interstellar has achieved the highest opening for an IMAX re-release in India. The film grossed ₹10 crore in its opening weekend and added another ₹1.60 crore on Day 4, bringing its total collection to ₹11.6 crore.

The day-wise breakdown of the re-release earnings is impressive:

  • Day 1: ₹2.5 crore
  • Day 2: ₹3.75 crore
  • Day 3: ₹3.75 crore
  • Day 4: ₹1.60 crore

The overwhelming response underscores India’s deep admiration for Nolan’s work. The director has acknowledged the country’s rich cinematic culture and has filmed parts of Tenet and The Dark Knight Rises in India. He has also met legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kamal Haasan.
