Kraven The Hunter had a lackluster debut both in North America and overseas, struggling to captivate audiences. Despite Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s charismatic performance and action-packed scenes, the film opened to poor box office numbers, even worse than Sony’s Madame Web.
The movie, created on a $100 million budget, was expected to earn between $13–$16 million in the US but managed only $11 million in its 3-day opening. This marks the lowest debut for a major comic book movie post-COVID. It also scored a “C” on CinemaScore and debuted at behind Moana 2 and Wicked.
At the international box office, Kraven The Hunter earned just $15 million in its 5-day opening. Combined with the US numbers, the worldwide total stands at a meager $26 million. These figures are four times lower than Morbius’ $39 million opening and even below Madame Web’s $15.3 million.
