Luxury car: HC comes down heavily on Dhanush

Days after the Madras High Court imposed fine on actor Vijay for seeking tax exemption for his Rolls Royce car imported from England, the Madras High Court has cone down heavily ob actor Dhanush who filed a similar case. Dhanush filed a case in 2015 and requested for tax exemption for his Rolls Royce car.

The Madras High court made a judgment on this case, and questioned Dhanush when ordinary people pay taxes, why do you refuse to pay tax when buying a luxurious car. The judge reminded him that everyone is equal before the law even if he gets paid in crores. The judge has questioned on a series of points against Dhanush and asked the actor to pay the taxes. Dhanush, who already paid 50% of the tax amount, has promised to pay the entry tax for the luxury car by Monday on 9 August. Also, it is worth mentioning that judge Subramaniam who handled Vijay’s case, has handled Dhanush’s case too.
