Maanaadu Movie Review

Touted as Venkat Prabhu’s politics, Maanaadu is a movie with a different concept in Tamil cinema. The comeback movie of Silambarasan TR, it also has SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadharshan, SAC, Premgi, Karunakaran, Subbu Panchu, Y Gee Mahendra and others. Cinematography is by Richard Nathan and music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The movie has editing by Praveen KL. It is produced by Suresh Kamatchi.

Plot
Abdul Khaliq (Silambarasan) returns from Dubai and relives one day’s incidents multiple times. He is stuck in a loop and he has a task — to stop the assassination of Chief Minister (SA Chandrasekhar). There is a bad cop Danushkodi ( SJ Suryah). He is also struck in time loop and he wants the murder to happen.

Performance
Silambarasan holds the movie together. He is at his best. Equally strong is SJ Suryah. He plays a complex villain role well. His dialogue delivery and body language is good. Kalyani Priyadharshan has a decent outing. The likes of Premgi, Karunakaran and SAC chip in well.
