Director Mohan Raja, celebrated for films like Jayam and Thani Oruvan, is thrilled that his 2017 action thriller Velaikkaran is making waves in China. A viral image of the film being screened on Chinese television recently caught the director’s attention, prompting fans to tag him on social media.

In an exclusive interview Times Now, Mohan Raja expressed his surprise. “Only after being tagged on Twitter did I learn about the film’s Chinese version. I was pleasantly surprised,” he said.

When asked about a theatrical release in China, Raja mentioned he wasn’t in touch with the producer but was informed that the film’s legal rights were acquired and it premiered in China in 2023.
