Rajinikanth receives Dada Saheb Phalke award

Actor Rajinikanth was conferred with Dada Saheb Phalke award at the annual film awards distribution in New Delhi today.

He was presented the award for his contribution to cinema.

Speaking at the event, Rajinikanth said, ‘I remember my mentor K Balachander on this occasion. I express my gratitude to my directors, co-star, technicians, producers, exhibitors and above all my fans.

He also recalled with thanks his good friend Raj Bahadur who spotted acting talent in him and sent him to Chennai to try his hands in acting.

Rajinikanth also thanked his brother Sathyanarayana for bringing up with values and spiritual inclinations.
