Soori Defends Suriya’s Kanguva, Slams Negative Reviews

Actor Soori has come out in strong support of Kanguva, the latest Tamil movie starring Suriya, which has faced overwhelmingly negative reviews despite its high expectations and lavish budget. Directed by Siva, the film, which marks Suriya’s most expensive project to date with a budget exceeding ₹300 crore, has struggled at the box office following the backlash.

Soori, joining his colleague Suriya’s wife Jyothika in defending the movie, urged audiences to overlook biased reviews with hidden agendas and support Kanguva. He expressed his belief that many negative reviews were posted for attention and views.

Praising the efforts behind Kanguva, Soori emphasized the hard work invested by the entire cast and crew to elevate Tamil cinema. “As a regular audience member, I thoroughly enjoyed Kanguva. My family and kids loved it too. Negative reviews should not deter us. The movie represents an ambitious attempt to push Tamil cinema forward,” Soori remarked.

Despite mixed feedback, Kanguva has performed decently at the box office, earning over ₹127 crore globally in its first three days.
