Despite a strong opening, the film’s daily earnings fell below ₹1 crore in its second week, with:

  • Day 17: ₹15 lakh
  • Day 18: ₹13 lakh
  • Day 19: ₹7 lakh

The Telugu version failed to perform, collecting only ₹2 crore in total, with its highest single-day collection being ₹50 lakh on opening day before dropping significantly.

What Went Wrong?

Critics and audiences have cited pacing issues and predictable storytelling as major drawbacks. Our official review rated Vidaamuyarchi 2.5/5 stars, stating that while the first half was slow and repetitive, the second half, despite some intriguing moments, was let down by an early plot revelation. The climax felt rushed, making the thriller less engaging than expected.

Can Vidaamuyarchi Recover?

With stiff competition from newer releases, Vidaamuyarchi faces an uphill battle to sustain its box office run. While Ajith Kumar’s star power generated early buzz, the film’s underwhelming reception has limited its staying power.
