Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and starring Trisha Krishnan, had a grand theatrical release on February 6. The film opened with an impressive ₹26 crore in India, surpassing Thunivu’s first-day earnings.
However, on its second day, Vidaamuyarchi saw a considerable drop in revenue, earning ₹8.75 crore, bringing its total collection to ₹34.75 crore in two days. In Tamil Nadu alone, the film grossed ₹25.5 crore, while its Telugu version, Pattudala, added ₹50 lakh to the tally.

Despite the decline, the film recorded a decent Tamil Nadu occupancy rate of 36.50% on Day 2. Show-wise breakdown indicated an increase in occupancy as the day progressed—morning shows stood at 21.48%, rising to 55.82% for night screenings. Meanwhile, Pattudala had an overall Telugu occupancy of 15.11%, with night shows reaching 24.6%.
Vidaamuyarchi is inspired by the 1997 American film Breakdown and follows a gripping rescue mission in Azerbaijan. While the drop in collections is notable, positive word-of-mouth could boost its weekend earnings. Fans are eager to see if the film regains momentum in the coming days.
