A Rocky Start and Declining Numbers
Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi started well at the Tamil box office, but its numbers have been declining rapidly. The film opened with ₹25.50 crores in Tamil Nadu and grossed ₹61 crores over its four-day extended weekend. However, early estimates suggest that its first Monday collection was just ₹4 crores, raising serious concerns about its long-term performance.
Tough Competition and Budget Woes
Adding to its struggles, Vidaamuyarchi is losing screens to Kudumbasthan and other holdover films. Despite crossing ₹100 crores worldwide, the film is expected to wrap up around ₹140 crores. With a reported production budget of ₹300 crores, this result would be disastrous for Lyca Productions.
