CBI raids at 40 places in UP

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today carried out searches at over 40 locations in Uttar Pradesh and a few other States after registering a fresh case to investigate alleged irregularities in Gomti Riverfront project.

The project was launched by then Samajwadi Party government in 2015 with Akhilesh Yadav as the Chief Minister.

Searches were underway at around 42 locations, including 40 in Uttar Pradesh, one each in Rajasthan and Kolkata.

The searches, which began early in the morning, are also underway at the premises of three chief engineers and six superintendent engineers of the project.
