Prez Kovind to arrive on Aug 2 on 5-day visit to TN

 President Ram Nath Kovind will arrive Chennai on August 2 on a five-day visit to Tamil Nadu.
According to the President’s itinerary,  Kovind will arrive
here at 1245 hrs and after a brief reception, will proceed to Raj Bhavan for launch.
At 1700 hrs, Mr Kovind will participate in the commemoration of
100th year of Madras Legislative Council and also unveil the statue of former Cief Minister M Karunanidhi in the Legislative Assembly premises.
After the hour-long function,  Kovind will leave for Raj Bhavan for an overnight stay.
On August 3, he will leave for Sulur Airfield in Nilgiris
district from where he would reach Raj Bhavan at Ooty by a helicopter.
On August 4, the President will attend an event at the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington.
On August 5, he is expected to visit some popular tourist spots in Ooty and would leave for Chennai on August 6 en route Delhi.
Elaborate security arrangerments have been made in view of the
President’s visit, Airport sources said.
