When the accident happened, the train was already moving and it passed over her legs, severely injuring her. Co-passengers and security personnel moved quickly to reverse the train and evacuate the area, enabling prompt aid.

“She struggled to sit amidst the chaos, soaked in blood, as police rushed to her aid,” said witnesses.

Mumbai’s daily routine has been disrupted by the heavy rain, which makes commuting for working people difficult. Local rail service has been disrupted by flooding in several locations, including Kurla and Chunabhatti.

For hours, there were no trains through Belapur, which led to crowding, and that’s when the woman tripped and fell onto the tracks.

The National Disaster Response Force has been taking preventative action in sensitive regions due to warnings from the Meteorological Department about a 4.40-meter high tide later today.
