TN Governor Banwarilal rushes to Delhi to meet Modi

Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has left for New Delhi, where he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later today.

Purohit is likely to call on Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday. The Governor is meeting the Prime Minister for the first time since the DMK came to power.

Purohit’s sudden visit to Delhi assumes significance, as it has come amid speculations that a new Governor may be appointed for Tamilnadu.

Buzz is that either Ravi Shankar Prasad or Prakash Javadekar, both senior Ministers who resigned from the Union Cabinet a few days ago, might be picked for this role.
