General Bipin Rawat to be cremated today with full military honours

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat’s mortal remains will be cremated today at Brar Square crematorium in Delhi Cantonment.

On Thursday evening, the mortal remains of General Rawat and others were brought to Palam Airbase in Delhi from Sulur in caskets wrapped in the Tricolour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with three service chiefs – Army Chief General MM Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar and IAF chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari paid their last respects to General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others.

As a mark of respect, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan will be sending top Army officials to the cremation of CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife that will take place on Friday.
