TamilJ&K: Terrorist killed in Sopore encounter, operation underway

An unidentified terrorist was killed by security forces after an encounter broke out in the Tulibal area of Sopore town in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The police said that the operation is still underway.”Sopore Encounter Update: 01 terrorist killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.
Security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Tulibal village in the Sopore area of Baramulla district following information about the presence of terrorists there, a police spokesman said. He said the search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire on the security forces, which retaliated strongly.
Meanwhile, another encounter broke out at Tujjan in south Kashmir Pulwama district, the police spokesman said adding further details were awaited. Earlier on Monday, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that seven terrorists including three Pakistanis were killed in encounters with security forces in the Valley.
