Anderson, Broad injuries may hand India the advantage at Lord’s

Virat Kohli’s Team India have been handed a huge advantage as first Stuart Broad & now James Anderson is also almost ruled out of the 2nd Test Match. Anderson has a tight quad muscle and looks certain to miss this test match starting today at Lord’s.

The 39-year-old veteran, who is now the third-highest wicket-taker in the test history, missed training on the eve of the game with a tight quad muscle.

Anderson’s injury further compounds Joe Root’s problems after fellow pacer Stuart Broad was ruled out of the series due to a calf tear. The injuries have further raised questions on England’s relentless schedule which has starved them of red-ball cricket all season.

The England team management drafted Moeen Ali and Saqib Mahmood to their squad and the latter could be handed a surprise debut by Joe Root, as he ponders a winning combination for the Lord’s Test.
