Gautam Gambhir, the retired Indian cricketer, has a big chance coming up. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has scheduled an interview for him to discuss the head coach position of the Indian men’s cricket team.

This event coincides, with the current head coach, Rahul Dravid, concluding his tenure with the end of the T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. The CAC has a few other former cricketers including Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshana Naik. However, they are not hiring a coach, but are instead focused on replacing Salil Ankola as a selector.

The report says that Gautam Gambhir was the sole applicant for this role with the BCCI. With his fantastic cricket career and a deep understanding of the game, Gambhir is a strong candidate. While there are rumors regarding his acceptance, he has set a few conditions before the panel. One is the liberty to choose his support staff, which may include a few of his old teammates.

Additionally, the BCCI confirmed that no former Australian players were considered for the coach position. Everyone awaits Gambhir’s decision as it is crucial for the team’s future.
