India’s 15-member squad for T20 World 2021 selected, official announcement soon: Report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to name Team India’s 15-member squad for T20 World Cup soon. As per the rules, all the teams have to unveil their 15-member squad by September 10 and the BCCI will reportedly name the squad in the next 24 to 48 hours.

The selectors have already selected the squad and that the announcement will be made after the end of the 4th Test match against England, say sources.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul look all but set to be named as frontline openers while Prithvi Shaw could compete with Shikhar Dhawan for the 3rd opener’s spot. The middle-order will also be stacked with the presence of Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryalumar Yadav, and others. The focus will be Shreyas Iyer and it remains to be seen if gets the nod or not. He hasn’t played any competitive fixture since March.

Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack, which will have Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar. Yuzvendra Chahal will lead the spin attack.
In the all-round department, Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya are confirmed selections. They could be joined by Krunal Pandya.
