Heavy rain predicted for next 4 days in TN

After a break, rains started lashing Chennai and its suburbs from the wee hours of today, amid a warning by weather officials that heavy showers would occur in many parts of Tamilnadu for next four days.

The IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai has predicted isolated very heavy rainfall in Tamilnadu and Puducherry over the next four days.

A low-pressure area is likely to form under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, the IMD said in its forecast.

The weather department has issued an orange alert in 7 regions of the State. It has also asked people to stay safe in these hard times.
