Coimbatore is the second most highly populated city next to Chennai. Due to scenario, there is always increased traffic congestion on the roads. In order to resolve this issue, Tamil Nadu government is taking necessary steps by building flyovers in and around the crowded places of the city.

In Coimbatore – Mettupalayam road, flyovers have been constructed at 3 places including Kavundampalayam and GN Mills. Similarly, flyover construction is underway on Ukkadam – Aathupalam road. The Tamil Nadu Government has also made flyovers at Gandhipuram and 100 feet road for traffic free travel. The longest bridge in Coimbatore district is under construction from Uppilipalayam to Goldwins. It is expected to benefit the people of Coimbatore.

In this situation, the Saibaba Temple area of Coimbatore has become the most congested area in Coimbatore. To reduce traffic and to accomodate future demand, it was decided to build a flyover in this area. KCP Infra Limited, a leading construction company from Chennai, has been awarded with the tender.

A total distance of 1.14 km is to be set up at a cost of Rs.52 crore. The construction work is planned to be completed within 18 months. There is no doubt that this flyover will be very useful for the people of Coimbatore.
