Police conduct raids at all 9 Central prisons in TN

Special Police teams on Friday conducted raids at all the nine Central prisons in Tamil Nadu this morning to ascertain whether inmates were in possession of contraband or cell phones.

Police sources said special teams from the police department carried out the raids to find out whether prisoners were in possession of cellphones, ganja, weapons and contrabands etc.

A 100-member team headed by Madhavaram Assistant Commissioner Sundaravadhanam conducted raids at Puzhal prison near here.

Similar and simultaneous raids were also conducted at the Central prisons in Cuddalore, Salem, Madurai and Palayamkottai.
