Protest over appointment of Dindigul Leoni as chief for TN Textbook Society

Several leaders and netizens urged the State government to withdraw its decision to appoint Dindigul I Leoni as Chairman of Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation.

In a Twitter post, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss said the State government must appoint a qualified educationalist to head the institution.

Anbumani also alleged that Leoni has been continuously making derogatory remarks against women. Appointing such a person as head, is an insult to the post.

Political analyst Sumanth Raman tweeted, Appointment of Dindigul Leoni as Head of Tamil Nadu Textbook Society is an interesting choice. He can teach children plenty of things they would never otherwise learn in school can’t he? Loyalty has to be rewarded but should it be at the expense of decency?
