Rains leave many parts of Chennai flooded

Even as many areas of Chennai remain flooded, weather experts have said various parts of Tamilnadu will continue to receive downpour till 2 December. However, the intense rain may take a break from tomorrow and decrease gradually.

Amid continued heavy rainfall inundating roads in several areas of capital Chennai, Tamilnadu government has announced a holiday in schools and colleges in Chennai and 10 other districts for today.

Many districts in the state got a respite from rains today amid a ‘very heavy’ rain forecast. State revenue and disaster management minister KKSSR Ramachandran had informed a total of eight people have died due to heavy rainfall in the State.
