Tamil Nadu Budget 2021 – VAT on petrol to be reduced by Rs 3/litre

The ruling DMK on Friday presented its first budget after coming to power, months after it swept the April 6 Assembly elections, with the opposition AIADMK boycotting the financial exercise.

Along with the announcement of several schemes, Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan said that the VAT on Petrol will be slashed by to Rs. 3 per litre, as per Chief Minister MK Stalin’s advise. However, he also said that there will be no change in tax structure for Diesel prices.
