TN to send anti-NEET Bill to Central government

In its next step against NEET, the DMK government will send a copy of the Bill adopted in the Assembly Monday, seeking to permanently exempt from the State from the purview of NEET exams and allow medical admissions based on Plus-2 marks, to the Union government.

This is expected to be accompanied by a strong letter from Chief Minister M K Stalin, urging the Centre to grant immediate exemption to Tamilnadu from NEET.

Moving the Bill, which will also provide 7.5 per cent reservation in medical colleges for students who had studied in government schools, Stalin said it was the DMK government headed by M Karunanidhi which had ensured medical admissions based on Plus-2 marks and even the AIADMK government headed by J Jayalalithaa did not allow NEET in the State.
